Well, I've had the Kenshin theme for about a semester now. With summer here and then the fall semester after, I thought I'd switch themes. This time I'm going for a LOTR... or rather, elf (bishie-elf?) theme.

Ta da! (click to see)

I've noticed that my old pages (including the ones I did for [insanejournal.com profile] ossian) seem to have trouble showing up appropriately on Netscape and Mozilla browsers. Evidently, these browsers don't support all the CSS goodies that Internet Explorer does. (For example, they can't do the opacity change function or change the scroll bar colors.)

Now, this isn't really a problem, since only the person whose page it is will be looking at those theme-displays anyhow. Their friends would likely be looking at the entries from *their* Friends page, and so if they're using different browsers, they won't see the problem. It's only if your using mozilla or netscape yourself that it becomes annoying. But for the sake of completeness, this time I tested my calendar page on Netscape too, so that even if it doesn't have the same range of cool effects, its still looks complete.

In line with that, I did some editing on the background wallpaper itself - mainly the faded box. This way I don't have to depend as much on html/CSS coding effects, and I think it even looks better this way too. Another good thing - GJ now supports image hosting up to 300kb! So now I can just plug all my wallpapers into GJ instead of depending on an outside service.

So I've still got 3 more pages to go. I've already decided on the wallpapers for two of them - Elrond and Legolas - for the two pages I use most often - Recent Entries and Friends. Though, I haven't decided exactly which to use for which yet. Thematically, I suppose I should have Legolas for the front page and Elrond for the Friends page... but the layout of the wallpaper images themselves seem better suited for the other way around. I dunno... I guess I'll make a decision later.

As for the Days View page... I'm not sure what image to use for that. I was thinking Galadriel, but she would be a bit out of place among all the hot elf hunks (^_~). There's also Haldir, but I don't think I have as many wallpapers of him around, which means I might need to go wallpaper hunting if I decide on him or another minor elf character. Oh well.
