Congrats to Nezha 2

Looks like it is breaking box office records left and right and continues to do so.

Also, looks like some theaters in the US are already showing it, despite previous news saying official release is Feb 14. However, seems like it was only available for IMAX on 2/12. Afterwards, I have not been able to find a single IMAX session for it in NorCal. Boo. (I'm guessing all the IMAX rooms are going to Cap4 or other new US releases.)

There are 3D sessions available though... I am considering going to one of those this upcoming long weekend.

As an aside, it's looking like Creation of the Gods 2 is being taken out of theaters. I guess it wasn't doing all that great in the US market compared to 1 either. It's only been showing for like, 2 weeks? Yikes.

My dad, of all people, is curious about the quality of Nezha 2, like from an audience perspective. Have you had a chance to watch it yet? He's harping at me to go watch, but I don't feel like fighting the crowds in the theater, especially during flu season.

So, just know there's two people waiting for your movie review. No pressure. XD

Are the theaters still crowded over there? I'd have thought it wouldn't be that bad in major cities like Beijing.

I've bought a ticket for the 3D showing on Monday afternoon. Will write a review after I see it.

Normally, Beijing is empty AF during New Year's because everyone heads home. The past two, three years however, families come to Beijing to visit their kids at school (Beijing has the largest concentration of universities in China), so the population like...tripled temporarily. It's a little better now, but since school still haven't started yet for most universities, there's just tons of college kids stuffed everywhere. Plus a giant flow of tourists that just doesn't seem to stop, regardless of season.

Also, it doesn't help that I have to go take the metro for like five stops to the nearest theater, because we live out in Beijing-boonies where there are no easy access commodities. So yeah, laziness is a huge hurdle I have to get over. (lll￢ω￢)

Huh, I'd have thought everyone would be back to school/work by the Lantern Festival. When do universities usually start back up after the new year holidays?

Most unis don't start classes until late Feb or March. So about two weeks after Lantern Festival.
