Looks like the new thing is a new armor skin, probably to be completed in 6 years (6 pieces). Kinda meh on the looks though.

Glances through the other update notes. Eh...nope, still don't feel the impulse to play again.

1) The armor is really kinda ugly and it's sad that anything remotely good looking is cash shop only.

2) There's really nothing for people to do in GW2 other than to chase after long term goals. One thing I noticed on FF14 is that they've paced short term rewards well. On the path to a long term goal, there's always a breadcrumb of smaller rewards that can be completed in a single game session.

3) GW2 relies too much on "enforced group content" to try to get people to cooperate without putting in the infrastructure to make things easy. FF14's auto-party system meant I could complete dungeons without ever having to wait more than 10 minutes. Maybe it's the reliance on the holy trinity, which makes everyone's roles clear and obvious, thus algorithms can easily party people up, but you'd think GW2's design that allows completion with any party composition should make it even easier. Just put in an auto-queue FFS.

4) Too much of the game is designed towards funneling the player into micro-transactions. When phone games are less heavy handed about shoving the cash shop in your face, then you know you're doing something wrong. And GW2 has gone so, so wrong on that front.
