Connecting the Dots

Stargate Command, September 1996 CE

- Watching probe data from P7X-377, the gate address from the Lantean/Furling communique
- Inside the ziggurat, probe finds a crystal skull
- Daniel goes over his grandfather's discovery of the skull and the stories of alien contact
- postulates the giant aliens could be the Furlings or related to them
- Janet worried about radiation exposure; have them wear hazmat gear
- they go to the temple; radiation levels climb; the crystal skull activates; radiation is gone
- when they try to leave back out the gate, they go through the DHD and realize they're out of phase with reality
- giant aliens appear; default question
- Daniel postulates their enemies were goa'uld since they did act against them on the Lantean communiques and answers the question
- they talk with the giant aliens; who are not the Furlings but their creations (not sure what that means)
- the giants welcome visitors to stay with them but warn that there is much they're not ready for
- Jack wants to know how they get back; Daniel asks about the Earth people they transplanted
- giant aliens tell them to look through the skull again
- they do; skull activates; when light fades they're back in phase but are on another planet
- they leave the ziggurat and find themselves in a preservation area surrounded by ultra modern buildings
- their appearance cause surprise and suspicion among the populace
- after working through the language issue (Mayan dialect) they learn they are on Tollan
- Tollans are not happy about unexpected visitors (especially primitives) in the aftermath of the self destruction of their neighboring planet Sarita; they're planning mass exodus and are stressed about transportation for all their inhabitants
- Daniel mentions they could also use the crystal skull network since it was originally used to transport populations
- D1 goes with a Tollan diplomat team back to P7X-377; however the Tollan won't claim the Goa'uld as enemies, and the giant aliens refuse to shelter them
- Tollans invite D1 to leave
- D1 makes contact with Earth via Tollan gate; before they leave, they offer a list of possible addresses that the Tollans can also talk to and see if they can also evacuate people via stargate

- after they get back, Daniel says he wants to visit his grandfather and he has an apology to make
- after seeing his grandfather, he realizes how big of a deal the crystal skull thing was to him, and asks if Nick can be brought in as the liaison to the giant aliens
- Jack backs him up since the man has prior experience and is not much of a risk
- Hammond says he'll see what they can do

Notes:
1. Without Teal'c to interrupt the transport process of the skull as in canon, it's likely that the transport would complete and facilitate the initial contact with the Omeyocans.
2. The Tollan homeworld was uninhabitable by late 1997/early 1998. So at this point in time, it's reasonable to have them in the middle of their crisis.
