GW - Dungeons on Ele
May. 31st, 2009 11:28 amDecided to work on the ele today cuz her bounty list was full.
Sepulchre (Ele) Analysis
Team builds/makeup:

Yes it looks very similar to the ranger one, which in retrospect was probably not a good idea since their styles ended up very different. I thought that the various ice eles in the dungeon would be more susceptible to fire damage, but apparently that's not the case. My ranger with splinter volley was probably doing more damage in this dungeon than the ele with her elite SH. Boo. Also, was more frustrating as caster versus the stupid whisps and their vow of silence. Bleh.
Livia died once at the end. The boss fight was touch and go for much of it. Not that the healers were running out of energy this time. It was more that they couldn't heal fast enough to keep up with the damage...or maybe the rest of the group couldn't deal enough damage or interrupt enough of the boss's skills. Bleh.
In retrospect, I should've taken out the mes (power block sucks with the long recharge) and the either the necro or the monk. Replace them with dual rangers, one with BHA and the other with incendiary or magebane. Keep the same hench - Herta for wards, Lo Sha for hexes to trigger Cry of Pain (which was also doing more damage than my fire spells) from. Then for the ele herself, go ether renewal + heal party spam (throw in extinguish for the boss and maybe breath of the great dwarf for more party heal). Yeah... that could probably do a better job at group healing than the LoD monk. Bleh.
Vloxen (Ele) Analysis
Team builds/makeup:

Overall the run went ok. Livia did die at the end once but that wasn't the build's fault. That was cuz she and all of Zoldark's minions got stuck at a particular wall corner, outside of wards/aegis. Oops. On the bright side, the next few times Zoldark summoned his minions, they all spawned stuck in that place, which made it easy to mow them down with AoE again and again. The boss fight itself was actually the easy part of this dungeon run.
(Also noticed that Zho likes to interrupt Vlox's minion summoning skill randomly... lol.)
Minor tweaks needed ... Noticed that Livia preferred to spam barbs instead of shadow of fear. Since the latter is the more important hex for damage mitigation/well of darkness synergy, I had to disable barbs early on. Probably should replace that with something else... foul feast, mark of pain (less spammable), weaken armor, signet of return, whatever.
And for my build, I think I should have dumped glyph of swiftness for either glyph of concentration or mantra of resolve. Damn dwarf mesmers and warriors kept interrupting my earth skills. Had some energy problems, but that was partly due to the interruptions and partly due to the necros removing my enchants. Bleh.
Also, splinter barrage (Masters + Aidan) was still doing more damage than my AoEs most of the time. Boo. Well, at least the earth spells have some utility to it too (kd, blind).
Dungeons remaining: Oola and CoF on ranger; Bogroot and CoF on ele.
Oh... note to
cashew: I picked up the Nicholas stuff for this week on Aoki. Most of it was party stuff which got used up immediately. Got 5 mysterious summoning stones which I swiped. Also some alcohol which got dumped on your mule. Also picked up today's zquests (Tihark, CoF) on Aoki. Had to complete Chabek (on HM) and turn in the award to free up room. Dumped the resulting 50 zcoins in your storage on top of your existing stacks.
EDIT: Blah... just noticed that some time in the past, my time zone settings on IJ got reset. Who knows how many posts now have their timestamps about 20+hours off. o_O
