Nastia Luikin got gold and Shawn Johnson got silver. Yang Yilin made bronze. Jiang Yuyuan unfortunately got off to a bad start and didn't make the ranks.

Both Chinese and American girls were all in the same group so that was the only group the camera focused on.

Vault
Yang went first did fairly well, slightly above Luikin who was second.
Shawn took the highest points at 15.875 with highest starting points, but didn't do as well as the last two competitions. Jiang went last (of the four) with the same difficulty as Shawn but fell on her landing which only got her a 14.825.

Uneven Bars
Luikin went first with the highest starting pts routine and did very well with 16.650
Shawn was next with a fairly low starting difficulty but did pretty well for 15.275
Jian did ok with 15.875.
And Yang Yilin went last with also the highest difficulty as well, for 16.725

Balance Beam
Shawn went first. Only one major wobble. Scored 16.050
Jiang had a few minor wobbles and got 15.425
Yang had a wobble on her 360 turn and another major wobble, which got her 15.750
Luikin was... yikes, for 16.125

Floor
Jiang I think by this point sort of gave up. Only made 14.775
Yang actually went before the two Americans. New routine. But only scored 15.000
Luikin was already .15 points ahead of Yang, and scored 15.525 for gold
Shawn was in third before this point, but scored 15.525 also to grab silver

Slightly worried about the individual apparatus now at this point... Especially since the Americans have apparently gotten over their jitters and mistakes.

It's gonna be tight.

EDIT: In other news, yesterday China's Li Na beat USA's Venus Williams in tennis (won 2 sets straight with 7-5) and got into the semifinals. *cheers*

Fuck, our poor babies. We better shape up for the individual rounds. Garh.

Yay for beating Williams. Who knows, maybe she watched too much Tenipuri. XD (At this point, Li Na has already won the hero status, since we've never had any medals in tennis previously.) :p

Women's doubles also made it to semifinals. Beat Russia this morning Pacific Time (they played from 11 PM to 3 AM Beijing time), 2-1. The game round lasted to 10-8. o_O

But there's 4 competitors in semifinals, so we're not looking at a bronze (at least) yet.
