tanithryudoThese were actually taken from the weekend after July 4. Last year about that time, an event was held in the Factions campaign which showed off some of the soon-to-come features of the upcoming Nightfall campaign. This year, by popular demand, Arenanet decided to do an anniversary "recreate" of the events of the previous event. So, here be screenshots...
Contrary to the actual rifts you see in the Nightfall campaign, these are actually paper mache "recreates" of the rifts.
I thought they were cute. Also cute (not shown here) were in place of the monsters from last time, instead we get NPC's
wearing monster masks (but still using the same skill sets) to fight against instead. ^^

My ele in Shing Jea for the final day's events, which included a lot of fireworks.
