tanithryudoIgnore if not interested. I'm just doing some calcs to see what my strategy will be at this point...
This will be sets for my Ranger since my Elementalist is pretty much set aside from maybe an earth staff to switch to.
Canthan set requirements: (will have no choice about this as I need the armor level upgrade)
200 Cloth, 32 Fur, 7500 Gold
Costs (current prices subject to change):
150 Gold/10 Cloth, 120 Gold/Fur
My current stock:
153 Cloth, 0 Fur
Amount still needed:
47 Cloth = 5 units = 750 Gold
32 Fur = 3840 Gold (Red Yeti drops fur but they few in number and hard to get to)
Total $$ needed: 12090 (over half my current savings -_-)
Alternatives (not as good as the shop ones, but may be enough to tide me over):
Mask: 5 Venerable Mantid Pincers
Vest: 5 Jade Bracelets
Gloves: 5 Putrid Cysts
Leggings: 5 Plague Idols
Boots: 5 Venerable Mantid Pincers
I have 11 Jade Bracelets & 14 Plague Idols ^_^
Only 1 Venerable Mantid Pincer... may need to go farming the nest
I have 4 Putrid Cysts but I may need that for an Earth staff... maybe
Luxon Armor set requirements:
200 Scale, 200 Chitin, 24 Jadeite, 7500 Gold
Costs (current prices subject to change):
140 Gold/10 Chitin, 150 Gold/10 Scales, 500 Gold/Jadeite
My current stock:
39 Chitin, 24 Scale
Will have at least 10 Jadeite from quests before the Luxon armorers
Amount still needed:
14 Jadeite = 7000 Gold
176 Scale = 18 units = 2700 Gold
161 Chitin = 17 units = 2380 Gold
Total $$ needed: 19580 (My total savings ATM -_-)
Alternative sources:
Chitin: dropped by mantids, salvaged from mantid pincers using normal kit
Scale: dropped by nagas, salvaged from naga skin using normal kit
Normal kit costs 100 gold, assuming all 25 uses are only applied to items above that gives a return of 176 scales for about 700 gold and 161 chitin for about 600-700 gold. I will need to farm Sunqua vale, looks like.
