GW screenies - new henchies (broken links)
Jan. 4th, 2007 08:40 pmSo now that I've unlocked the city for the second mission on the newbie island, I get the high level henchmen now. Rather than some randomly named characters, these are actually the instructors and TA's of the various professions that handed out the profession quests.
In the interests of bandwidth, I'm making this a separate post from the last one.
1. Kai Ying, assistant instructor for elementalists. His dialogue tends to be filled with bad puns, but he's also very perky and optimistic about everything in general even when the hordes of the mutated/undead are charging at the group. Also, I think think he's cute. Which is not something I can say about the majority of the male character templates in this game. :P

2. Panaku, assistant instructor for assassins. He, um, seems to like his work. A lot. Well, at least it gives him a distinct personality that certainly stands out. ^^;
He also seems to have a... sizeable... "package", does he not? <.<

3. Talon Silverwing, assistant instructor for warriors. Standard tanker/physical damager. Doesn't fly despite the wings, unfortunately. *pout*

4. Lo Sha, assistant instructor for Mesmers. No idea what he looks like under the mask, but he does looks like he could lose a few pounds, doesn't he? He's uh, also got issues with the other staff, in that he apparently doesn't think much of the Mesmer head instructor, and he's infatuated with his fellow Mesmer TA (I suspect the lady might be messing with his head ^_-).

5. Sister Tai, head instructor for Monks. She... um... is bland. ^^;

6. Su, assistant instructor for Necros. She apparently provides the undead minions that the other assassin TA uses for training newbies. Where she gets the bodies to make those undead minions is anyone's guess. >.>;

7. Zho, assistant instructor for Rangers. I get the feeling she doesn't like dealing with people...

8. Prof. Gai, head instructor for Ritualists. He tends to use big words, but otherwise he doesn't stand out much. Mostly due to lack of screen time.

Sometimes the henchies do random emotes while aimlessly standing there in town. It's a little tricky to capture them... but I managed to snag two:

Update:
1. Here's as promised, the images of the other Mesmer assistant instructor. She doesn't have a mask, interestingly, even though it comes with the Mesmer standard costume for both males and females.

2. And while I'm at it, a couple of pics of my character out with the instructor henchies. I'm rather amused by the fact that Kai Ying is always running to stand in front of me. (Possibly because his attacks/spells have the shortest range?)

3. Of course, things get kinda funny since there's a quest I left unfinished in the valley with those instructors as NPCs. So when I go there to take a look, we get... DOUBLES! XD

4. And here's us fighting. I love this lagoon. As long as you stand in the water, you get +25HP every time you use something from the skill bar. Great place to stand and nuke the mobs on the shore.

5. Aftermath of the fight. It's finally happened. Collateral damage. XD Accidentally killed a crane that walked into the middle of the fight. Hey, what can I say? If it's stupid enough to walk into where I'm aiming, it's better for the breeding pool just to let it get killed. :P

6. Attempting to get caps of some *live* cranes. Kind of hard to do as the darned birds just won't stop moving around.
