Sea of Chaos Quest

Cautionary notes before starting:
- All items in quest aside from birthstones are non-savable
- Quest chambers in Sea of Chaos are no-vort/summon/save
- All other areas in Sea of Chaos are no-rift/steed, but are vort/summon-able

Checklist before starting (these are all saveable items):
1 Atlantis Attendant Token (NOT class token) for each character (doesn't matter who it's ownered to)
1 birthstone of every month per character (doesn't matter who it's ownered to)
1 Candle/Candle of Divinity from each level of Sea of Chaos (one of them's bugged; use identify to tell which floor it's from)

Birthstones pre-quest

1. January - Garnet
Dwarven mine leader down in dwarven mines (pass door through locked east door in mines)
2. Febuary - Amethyst
One of the Jellyfish in Fishes (under Ulameer)
3. March - Aquamarine
Fire newts leader
4. April - Diamond
Mine Boss in Gingh mines
5. May - Emerald
Mistress of chaos at the top of HTOS (one with the calico cat)
6. June - Pearl
Parrot in Atlantis
7. July - Ruby
Fabalhalda the god of sligs (strangely shaped rock is key to door down)
8. August - Peridot
Pops from fountain at MtG white mana (under path up to Heaven)
9. September - Sapphire
Dance Fairy in Fairy Kingdom
10. October - Tourmaline
Golden Buddha (middle one) in White Lotus temple
11. November - Topaz
Ancient statue of a knight in Storm Clouds
12. December - Turquoise
Gnome chief in Gnomes

Quest Directions:

1. Join the Candle & Candle of Divinity from same level for month portal, starting with the Guardian Angel ones

2. For each month angel, give it its birthstone for month token

3. At January Angel:
a. give it a Atlantis Attendant Token for Proof
b. Join Proof with January Token for January Essence
c. Join January Essence with Garnet (Jan. birthstone) for January's Knowledge

4. For all subsequent months (in order):
a. join the previous month's Knowledge to the month token for the current month's essense
b. join the current month's essence with the birthstone for the current month's knowledge

Example

January:

Abaddon gives Atlantis Attendant Token to January's Angel .
January's Angel says 'Seek ye the Garnet gemstone in the land of the short folk...'
January's Angel says 'their caverns hold many secrets.'
January's Angel says 'Keep this with you, you will need it later.'
January's Angel drops Proof.
Abaddon gets Proof.

You give Garnet to January's Angel .
January's Angel says 'You have done well.'
January's Angel drops January .
January's Angel says 'Join this with the Proof you were given earlier.'
You now bond with January .
You get January .
January's Angel drops Garnet.
January's Angel says 'Then join that with the stone you retrieved to get proof or your knowledge.'

Join proof + January = January's Essence

February's Angel drops Amethyst.
February's Angel says 'Then join that with the stone you retrieved to get proof or your knowledge.'
February's Angel says 'Take that proof to my sibling.'
You get Amethyst.

Join January's Knowledge + February = February's Essence
Join February's Essence + Amethyst = February's Knowledge

...and so on...

You give Turquoise to December's Angel.
December's Angel says 'You have done well.'
December's Angel drops December.
December's Angel says 'Join this with the Token from November.'
You now bond with December.
You get December.
December's Angel drops Turquoise.
December's Angel says 'Then join that with the stone you retrieved to get proof or your knowledge.'
December's Angel says 'Take that proof to your quest master in the guild.'

Join November's Knowledge + December = December's Essence
Join December's Essence + Turquoise = December's Knowledge

5. Recall guild and give December's Knowledge to Guildmaster for item


Layout of Sea of Chaos:

Quest Directions per level (best in order):
- kill the Lemure demon for Candle
- kill zodiac angel for Candle of Divinity
- join Candle & Candle of Divinity for month portal (see above)

General layout per level:
- 4 special rooms with locked doors
- all keys have a chance of not popping from the mob (annoying)
- two doors are rooms that go up/down 1 level
- 1 Feather of Angel key opens door to zodiac angel
- 1 Barb of Demon key opens door to lemure demon
- one of the rooms per level also go up or down to a non-adjacent level
- every time you go up to the next adjacent level, you start off in the northeast corner (except for floor 11)
- all non-unique mobs on floor 7 and under are neutral
- all mobs on floor 8 and up are evil if they aggro, and good otherwise
