Windows 11
Mar. 9th, 2023 09:20 amMy work computer auto updated to Win 11 last night.
Still getting used to the new UI.
Not too much changes so far... At least, I was able to find all my stuff.
EDIT: I mean, yeah, there's a bunch of annoying stuff in Win 11. There was a bunch of annoying stuff in the upgrade from XP to Win 10 too (like the pretty glossy transparent themes). There's not much that can be done other than to live with it and try to look for workarounds.
List of annoyances:
- Taskbar can't be moved to top/side of the screen anymore.
- The clock app, both taskbar and app itself, does not show seconds anymore
- Notepad by default displays all files in one window (like notepad++ does), and when you set it to open in individual windows, the preview from the taskbar does not show the filename of the opened files.
- The snipping tool: when you snip a pic now, it doesn't remain on the top and automatically save the image to clipboard. Instead you have to click on the app from taskbar again to bring the clipped image up and manually click the copy button.
