Possession is Nine-Tenths of Ownership

It was a testament to the peculiarities of Psidai’s current first year class that no one found it strange to see an unknown boy pacing repetitively up and down the undergraduate dormitory halls, taking nine steps back for every ten steps forward. A few might have recognized him as a high school third year from Seigaku, were not for the fact that all the Seigaku graduates just happened to be in class at the time. And for that reason also, when the boy finally reached his destination, only silence answered his hesitant knock at the door to room 80A.

Kaidoh Kaoru fidgeted as he waited at the door to his former (and soon to be again) senpai’s dorm room, wondering if he should have called before making the last minute trip to the university. Absently, his mind wandered back to the scene at his senpai’s house just before Inui left for college...

~~~
Kaidoh stared at the inky green leather choker his senpai had just presented to him. His fingers traced along its outer face to the attached gem-set stud that was proudly displaying the kanji for his surname.
“Anou... what’s this for, senpai?” the he asked, blushing slightly as Inui sat down on the bed next to him, far too close for comfort.
“Think of it as a... remembrance charm for when I’m gone,” Inui suggested, grinning as the blush deepened on his kouhai’s face. “Or an early birthday present, if you’d prefer.”
“My birthday’s not for another month,” Kaidoh muttered. He idly flipped the center stud over and blinked.
“Yes, but there is a 95% probability that I will not be able to leave the university to see you then, so it’s best to give this to you now,” Inui told him, inching closer into his kouhai’s personal space while Kaidoh’s attention was diverted.
“Senpai...” Kaidoh hissed hesitantly, unsure if he really wanted to hear the response to his question, “...why is your name engraved on the back?”
Inui grinned wickedly and leaned down to whisper intimately into Kaidoh’s ear. “Why, Kaoru, it’s only appropriate for a collar to display the owner’s name.”
“C-collar!? Owner?!” Kaidoh sputtered as he nearly leaped out of Inui’s encroaching embrace. He hissed defiantly at his incorrigible senpai and boyfriend despite the growing heat on his face. “I’m not a pet!”
“Mmm, but you’d make such a cute kitten, Kaoru,” Inui murmured as he yanked the indignant younger boy back into his arms.
Kaidoh hissed and squirmed vainly against the hold, but he knew he was fighting a losing battle when he felt the trail of kisses nibbling down his neck.
“...After all,” Inui continued to purr, “you are mine, ne? We wouldn’t want a recurrence of the... misunderstandings... of your junior high third year, now would we?”
Damn Inui for starting to make sense. Before Kaidoh could offer any more protest to belie the weakening of his struggles, he felt the collar sliding along his neck and neatly clicking into place. His hands, which reflexively reached for the neckpiece, were firmly caught in his senpai’s and lowered back into his lap. Inui’s breath ghosted across his ear again.
“If it makes you feel better, Kaoru, you may get me... something of your own... when my birthday comes around.” Inui smiled against the flushed skin of the younger boy who was now no longer struggling as much as pressing against him. “I’ll even promise to wear it.”
Those were the last coherent words heard in that room for quite some time afterward.
~~~

Kaidoh sighed as he pulled himself out of his reverie and back into the present. He glared at the closed door in front of him and reluctantly turned around. It seemed that Inui was not in at the moment, and he might as well come back later. However, just when he reached the door leading out from the suite lounge to the dorm hallway, it swung open to reveal the familiar face of the former Rikkai student and Inui’s current roommate, Yanagi Renji.

Yanagi peered down at the younger boy standing in the room through unopened eyes, his quick mind automatically drawing the logical conclusion to the other’s presence. “Seigaku’s Kaidoh-kun, I believe?” he asked. “Are you here to see Sadaharu?”

Kaidoh nodded and muttered a low sound of agreement. He was still rather uncomfortable in the other’s presence.

Yanagi regarded the other warily as well, but for other reasons than their common associate. However, he wasn’t about to let this opportunity go by. And here he had been wondering if he should get his roommate something for his birthday.

“He’s in class right now,” Yanagi told the younger boy. “Why don’t you come in to our room and wait for him.”

The proposal sounded quite reasonable, so Kaidoh silently followed the other into the room.

He shouldn’t have been surprised by the fact that the furniture in the room was arranged in almost perfect symmetry. Even the clutter of textbooks and magazines that were strewn about and the scribbles on the wall seemed to mirror similarly between the sides of the room. If it weren’t for the beakers of half-crusted greenish residue on one of the desks, Kaidoh wouldn’t have been able to tell which half of the room was Inui’s.

As it was, the younger teen hesitantly took a seat at his senpai’s desk and settled down to wait in awkward silence. He kept his hands firmly shoved in his pockets to prevent them from acting on the strong urge to start tidying up the mess on the desk.

A glass of clear liquid being set in front of him shook Kaidoh out of his restless glares at the messy desk. He looked up in confusion at Yanagi, who had just retrieved it from the small refrigerator near the door.

“It’s a long way here from Seigaku,” the older boy said. “You should replenish your fluids.”

It was slightly disturbing to hear that kind of thing from someone else other than Inui, but Kaidoh couldn’t argue with the truth of it. He took his hand out of his pocket to pick up the glass, only to find that he’d forgotten to unclench his fingers from around the small wrapped box he’d brought for his senpai.

“Is that your birthday present for Sadaharu?” Yanagi asked curiously as the slightly flustered boy before him quickly stuffed the box back into his pocket.

“Aa,” Kaidoh said shortly, not wanting to get into a conversation at all, much less about his gift. He hadn’t worked up the nerve to get Inui something as blatantly scandalous as he’d received, and in the end, had gone with a simple wrist guard instead. The weight inside was engraved, of course, but no one could see that from the outside, and that was how he’d preferred it.

Thankfully, Yanagi didn’t push the issue and simply raised an eyebrow as he watched Kaidoh attempt to ignore him while finally taking a sip from the glass.

There was a split second when Kaidoh eyes popped wide as he reflexively gagged at the unspeakable taste registering on his tongue and flowing down his throat. He barely had time to reflect, in a small corner of his mind, that it was really a bad idea to drink anything from a room that Inui lived in, before everything turned black.

Yanagi smirked as he considered the unconscious figure slumped in Inui’s chair. Now, all he had to do was wrap up his “present” before Inui returned from his classes.

Early evening, a few hours later, Inui Sadaharu frowned as he closed the door to Suite 80 behind him. The suite lounge was dark and silent, with no hint of the usual yells and thumps coming from Room 80B or the tap-tapping of keyboard and mouse from his own room. He could remember no special event that would keep all three of the other occupants of the suite out tonight. Something was going on.

His suspicions thus roused, Inui cautiously opened his door and immediately picked up the faint rustling sound that seemed to come from the vicinity of... his bed? Steeling himself for the 60% probability that Niou was playing pranks again, Inui flicked on the light switch.

His book bag clunked to the ground, immediately followed by the dropping of his jaw.

‘There is a 35% chance that I am experiencing a hallucination due to inhaling the fumes from my latest experiment in lab today and a 60% chance that the kami are truly smiling upon me.’

Mortified eyes stared back at him from a beet-red face belonging to the teen that was stripped naked to the waist on his bed. Kaidoh’s hands were tied securely together to the headboard by red cords that were half twisted but still holding against the straining muscles. His feet, divested of shoes and socks, were similarly immobilized to the opposite end of the bed. A muffled noise could be barely heard behind the gag that covered his mouth.

In short, it was a scene that was straight out of one of Inui’s wet dreams. Well, sans the giant tanks of Inui Juice, of course.

An evil smile spread across Inui’s face as he stalked toward the prey so laid out for him, barely remembering to close and lock the door behind him. He relished in each successive shade of red that appeared on the other’s skin.

“Why Kaoru,” he purred as he reached the edge of the bed and loomed over its unwilling occupant, “this is certainly a wonderful surprise.”

Kaidoh made a sort of half-whimpering sound from behind the gag.

Inui grinned and traced a finger down the other’s flushed skin, delighting in the tiny shivers the touch caused. However, he paused when his digit drew down to his kouhai’s hips, noticing for the first time the small card that was discretely tucked into the waistband of Kaidoh’s boxers. Curious, he plucked it out and read the neatly printed words, which confirmed most of his suspicions about the irregularities of the situation:

Sadaharu,

The present on your desk is from your kouhai. The one on the bed is from me. Enjoy.

Certain persons next door and downstairs have been dealt with for the duration of the night. I’ll be staying with Genichirou. Try not to be too loud.

You owe me something good for my birthday tomorrow.

Renji

Inui huffed in amusement when he finished reading, and laid the card next to the green-wrapped box on his desk. Later, he’ll have to think of something spectacular to get Renji for the other’s birthday tomorrow. But for now, he fully intended to enjoy the present in front of him.

“Now then, Kaoru,” he murmured as he leaned down to undo Kaidoh’s gag, the better so he could steal kisses and wrench sounds from those delicious lips.

“...where were we?”

Disclaimer: Konomi's, not mine. Except for maybe the Psidai stuff.

AN: Yes I know I'm writing the series out of sequence. But it's Inui's birthday (well, in Japan it's 6/3 right now) and this was more appropriate. I'll fill in the rest later.
