More LOTR Stuff

First of all, I think my internet is finally working right now. Wow. That only took like the rest of the day, huh? *rolleyes*
Though ffnet did come back up a couple of hours earlier... and some of the other sites I tried to surf worked okay.
Anyway, I found some interesting reading while I was waiting. Not fics... more like articles or fan-compilations related to LOTR. Some people have a lot of time on their hands... but the stuff is interesting, and some of it might be useful if I ever decide to write a real (serious) LOTR fic.
The Boy With The Bow - Written by an fangirl knowledgable in modern and historical archery (possibly a professional?). Basically analyses the depictions of archery in FOTR (I guess it was written before TTT came out). Most of it centers on Legolas, since he is the most prominent archer in the movie, but she also covers as much as possible the archery of the Galadhrim and the Uruk Hai.
The first section of the page is on weaponry, including comparisons with modern archery equipment, and analysis on just how functional and practical the movie archery stuff are (apparently WETA did a darn good job). The secont part is analysis of the shooting techniques of Orlando Bloom (and to a lesser extent, Aragorn and the Uruks) - how much of it was accurate and so on. The last part ends with a scene-by-scene analysis of every archery-related scene in FOTR. There's some funny side commentary as well.
I dunno how professional the author of the text is, but I think that this might be a possible reference for future Rumbles threads that might involve the archery capabilities of the Elves or Uruks.
What Tolkien Officially Said About Sex - Exactly what the title says. Some fanfic author decided to publish the fruits of her research on the subject on Elven sexuality. It mainly addresses the common themes seen in fanfic-dom: promiscuity vs asexuality, sanctity of marriage, taboos, etc. Much of the information is very disheartening to the average romance(or PWP)-writer... though one notes that the small section regarding slash acknowledges no conclusion either way. :p
Puritanical Elves and Morgoth's Ring - A rebuttal (or re-interpretation) of the above on behalf of fan-writers everyehwere. :p
'That tall fellow next to Galadriel - A defense of Celeborn as a character, basically. Interesting stuff.
Michael Martinez's articles - for my own ref.
More articles/rants written by aforementioned archery enthusiast on various other LOTR topics.
