Another option is to look into the second hand market for a cheap-o tablet. (Just thought of this as I'm trying to sell my furniture for the upcoming move.)
OfferUp is apparently the new Craigslist, so you can try searching that site and see if anyone's selling their tablet at an offer you want. Obviously, there's always e-bay.
