No. Just no. Japanese occupation of Taiwan just happened to be longer and there was less resistance, mostly because Taiwan was tiny and had no military force to resist as the Mainland was too busy fighting its own civil war (then fighting off the Japanese). Japanese occupation in Taiwan was over 50 years and had substantially altered the culture there as opposed to the Mainland that was still actively fighting back. The occupation was just more complete, but it was definitely bad for the people there. I wouldn't say that there's necessarily a lack of resentment so much as a rise for dividing from the Mainland, thus looking towards any other strong East Asian country to form alliances.
