Didn't feel like writing a big post, so got lazy and used an online tier list maker.
I tried to exclude any feelings about their gameplay kit from the equation. So this list is purely in terms of lore characterization and aesthetic design.
Kinda surprised myself that the majority of Liyue characters fell under the rose tinted glasses (ie. extension of feelings of their CN-style design as Liyue characters), while only fewer made it higher up as liked for being characters... While the like category has a pretty large number of Sumeru and Natlan characters (hm... probably one of the reasons I also rank these two nations pretty high up).
The ones in the "mixed feelings" category are mostly ones I really like the some aspects of the aesthetic OR characterization, but really don't like the others...
For example I really like Mauvika's characterization, and her hair (OMG her hair is so pretty!), BUT I really hate her overly fanservice biker outfit. Similarly, I like Columbina's ult and floaty movement animation, but her weird blindfold and fanservicey body proportions drive me nuts.
The ones I actively dislike could either be due to the visual design (eg. Mona, Diluc, etc), or due to characterization (eg. all Fatui).
The "Who?" category are characters I don't really recall doing any quests for. (Or ones I do recall the quest for, but draw a blank trying to recall what went on in the quest.)
