Well, I don't have access to the manga either, but I finally skimmed the FET boards to see if I could pick up any news.

So apparently D2 is Gakuto-Hiyoshi vs. Inui-Kaidoh. Someone called Hyotei's D2 "the mushrooom pair". I'm kinda amused. Of course, this means that D1 for Seigaku will have to be Fuji-Taka, unless Konomi's really acutally going for Fuji-Ryoma (O_o). I'm hoping that InuKai wins, of course... and I also wonder at how they're both exclusive doubles players in the nationals now, despite the whole thing with Inui's match vs Rikkai when they said he's a better singles player and Kaidoh's own inital resistance to playing doubles with Inui before the first Hyotei match. Methinks they both protest too much *smirk*. (OMG InuKai is *manga* canon, just like GP now! *wibbles* *spazz* *flail*)

Someone also mentioned that apparently Kaidoh still has anger issues, and pulled the same thing he did pre-game at the net that he did with Kamio. I wonder what Gakuto or Hiyoshi said to him. Then someone on the board commented that maybe Kaidoh needed to get laid and I keeled. XD I don't think they realized what they were implying. Poor Kaoru-chan, playing doubles in close proximity with your crush lust object one true love ahem... senpai... and not being able to *really* work of that excess energy your uber-stamina gives you... XD *OMG THE PLOT BUNNIES! THEY HAVE ME!!*

(Ignore the ravings, it's 2 a.m. right now.)

Anyhow, managed to snag a pic of Inui's opening shot. Bets on if he still had his wrist guard on when he did it (ala the Shishido-Ohtori game)? :p

Anyhow, while I admit that there's still a chance for Konomi to pull off a Hyotei win for D2, I don't think it's likely. InuKai still have to get back their own after their previous loss to Hyotei, just like how Oshitari got his back from Momo. Plus in the polls, Inui's still in the top ten and Kaidoh's in the top 15 while I don't believe either Gakuto or Hiyoshi have placed that high... Konomi's gotta consider the fans, yes? ^_^

Oh, and a final unrelated-to-manga note: Look! Cute! )

Addendum: I also got the "translation" for Oshitari's funky alphabet moves from FET. Here they be, directly pasted:
F&D: Feint and Drop Shot - I don't think there's any funky spin to this move, but if you notice the stance Oshitari is in prior to hitting the drop shot, it looks a lot like he'd hit a basic stroke. Hence the feint.

FAS: Flat Approach Shot - Yeah, looks a lot like a Jack Knife.

SSAS: Side Spin Approach Shot - Yeah, looks a lot like a Snake. With added bounciness!

I've finally updated the YvtW website for the last time. I've explained in multiple places about the board crash and the thread deletions, resulting in the end of the site records. I've also added the last two chapters to the stories page, if anyone still cares to read.

Well, that's it for that. One last loose end tied up. *nods*
