Midterm woes

I did worse on my midterm today than I have ever done in my education career so far. You just know something is really wrong when you only understand 1/10 of the questions on the test.

On the other hand, when eavesdropping on other students taking the test, I overheard at least one comment going "I left like 3 pages blank", which gives be the barest glimmer of hope.

I wonder if I can talk my advisor into letting me take this class for pass/fail...

Random update

Five pages and 2000+ words and I'm still nowhere near done. Darn characters keep trying to hog the scene. This is supposed to the GP and Shishido/Ohtori, dammit! Where did Mukahi come from? And Inui? *muttermutter*

It also just occurs to me that the whole InuKai dynamic has disturbing similarities to the cliched theme of the brainy nerdy girl getting the muscle-bound handsome jock boyfriend. Except for the girl part and arguably the handsome part.

*smacks head against table to get rid of mental image of Inui in drag*

Summary: It’s the finals of the national tournament in high school as Seigaku’s Golden Pair faces off with the Silver Pair (or whatever they’re called) of Hyotei.

Notes: Finally, the last fic in the doubles trilogy of the Psidai prequel fics. This one is more than a little inspired by the Battle of the Newlyweds doujinshi.

Footnotes:

1. The ordering of the matches at the Nationals for the purposes of this universe is the standard D2, D1, S3, S2, S1 order that most of Tenipuri used so far. the S3-D2-S2-D1-S1 order used in the manga for the Nationals matches.

2. Monsoon season is typically June-July in Japan. Momo's birthday is in late July. So by anime continuity, the Nationals probably take place in mid or late August. So the "tail end of a late monsoon season" seemed reasonable to me.
