Was woken up at an unholy hour in order to make the train to Shanghai. The train ride was another 3 hours, during which I went from initially perky to slightly nauseous. Mom had already planned for the three of us (cousin Y came with us to help with the extra luggage) to stay at the same hotel as we stayed at last time in Shanghai.
On the way from the train station to the hotel, though, my nose started bleeding again, though it was nowhere as bad as last night. It was more inconvenient in that we were in the middle of a sidewalk with people walking around us. Luckily, my cousin helped me to staunch the bleeding and proceeded to carry my share of the luggage the rest of the way to the hotel.
All I can say is this: His girlfriend better realize that she's darn lucky to have a careful and caring guy like him, and she better appreciate him. ...One more remark: If I ever (hypothetically) find a guy of my own, I'd want him to be someone like my cousin, even if he doesn't have to have status/smarts/etc. ...I'll stop raving about him now before this gets too incestuous. :p
Anyway, I stayed at the hotel to rest while mom and cousin Y went out for food runs and a bit more last minute shopping (on Mom's part only, of course). I did take the first shower/bath I've had in 3 weeks. (Let me explain: while my grandparent's place is *capable* of hot water, they never turn it on. If they needed hot water to wash their hands/feet or to drink, they put cold water from the facet into a huge pot and then boiled it. Needless to say, this made bathing rather impossible.) However, the water quality in Shanghai (or at least that hotel) wasn't all that good, so my hair still felt icky afterward. But at least it wasn't itchy anymore, and my body at least has to be slightly cleaner.
