Lunch party in a nutshell: nice food, but awkward conversation, at least for me.

Post-lunch karaoke: About as expected - it went okay once everyone's embarrassed themselves once. My throat hurts. Also, discovered that cousin Y's quite the romantic. Which figures... he ought to have gone into 文 (lit).

Cousin Y's girlfriend seemed nice, I guess. She's a med student prepping for her grad school exams (MCAT? Equivalent?) so she must be smart at least. She also fusses over Y a bit, kinda like a married couple. Not sure what to make of that. I did find out that the two of them have only been together for about a month or so, which seems to me like it's not nearly enough time for the serious consideration of wedding/post-wedding plans like the parents/grandparents keep discussing.

My other cousin, the younger one (let's call her J), was also at the lunch. She's about as I remembered her, though we hadn't much chance to talk together just the two of us. She has matured quite a bit though... presumably because she's been working ever since she graduated high school. (I'm not sure, but I think the high school program she was in also extended to an AA degree. In either case, she finished her school and went out into the workforce before me, when she's a year younger than me.)

After returning home, there was suddenly some kind of impromptu family meeting about Y's future marital status. *facepalm* I dunno how he could stand all the meddling/talk/voyeurism. I'd've blown them off after the first 2 sentences. But then, he has a much better temperament than me (verging on doormat status, practically). He does really seem to like his new girlfriend though. Who would've thought that he be such a romantic that he'd go for the whole "love at first sight" deal (well, second sight not counting 3rd grade, obviously).
