Is it Xmas already? Nearly? There's lots of people out, but I dunno if that's normal since it's my first day out shopping (yesterday being snowed out again). I picked up some CD's and VCDs and reference dictionary stuff, but I'm saving the bootleg software/TV for later, since cousin Y has promised to go with me.
After going through the bookstores, Mom and I went to a large shopping center clothing. I have the feeling we went to the wrong place, since the prices were all in the 300-400 RMB ($35-40) range. The shop also had this script deal, where you get a coupon for 150 RMB for every 300 RMB spent. So I guess it's almost like half-off if you're guaranteed to spend the other half.
The purchases I made for myself:
* 1 pair formal shoes (what was I thinking?)
* 1 pair of pants (with soft inner lining)
* 1 large formal outer coat which Mom insisted I get for all those (hypothetical) company parties I'm going to attend in the future.
Each item was about 300 RMB.
Overall, we bought 5 items and got about 3 scripts total, so I guess we must've spent about 900 RMB in actual money, which is an average of 180 RMB ($22) per item. Unfortunately, the only thing that I think was actually worth that is probably just the overcoat. Seriously, we got better deals in Shanghai. Or at least that's the problem with going to brand-name stores here.
