One of my favorite fansites, Rhiannon's Eyrie, updated today with 6 new fics. A mish-mash of her fandoms.

One of them is a XF/HL xover, In Media Res. One-shot, fairly short. I dunno how well she did on the XF side, but cashew can probably tell me. The premise behind it is a plot bunny that I'm surprised that hasn't been more common among XF/HL fanfics though.

Basically, there's a HL minor Immortal character named Cory Raines, a rogue and a scoundrel with a tendency to stray on the wrong side of the law... kinda like a male Amanda. He's played by the same actor who played Krycek on XF. That in itself ought to be great fanfic fodder. On top of that, though, we have Cory's Immortal teacher, Matthew McCormick, who last seen in the series was a FBI agent. Coincidence? Well, maybe synchronicity.

Anyways, I guess the fact that they're both cameo characters who only appeared for one or two episodes in the entire six seasons might be the reason why they don't feature as much in fanfic, except when written by hardcore HL fans who are actually familiar with them. Pity that.

Back to the fics... another one I liked is a solo-HL fic titled It'll Never Work. What can I say? Any fic that features Methos at his most scheming (even his subconscious plots - sometimes at his own expense!), and Connor at his most sarcastic, with a dash of Darius thrown in (pity for the fangirls that he went into the priesthood for the last two millenia)... well, that's just a recipe for success, HL-style.

Best of all... Duncan? Who's Duncan? We don't need no Duncan in our HL stories. We have everyone who *really* matters, anyhow. ^_-
