Day 16: Day of Dooom

tanithryudoToday all the good luck I've had of previous days gets turned on me. Like I said before, I expected to get sick this break because I *always* get sick at the end of each and every visit back to China - no exceptions.
So this morning it started seemingly benignly with just my period starting. I suppose it was unrealistic to hope that my cycle won't hit anytime in the 3 weeks of my stay. I also woke up with a very sore throat, which was disappointing because my very slight cold that I mentioned earlier had been gradually fading away the last few days, to the point that I barely felt any symptoms yesterday at all. Little did I know that these were only deceptive little harbingers for the boatload of bad karma to come...
Then in the afternoon I started getting a headache, which became worse as time passed on. I thought I might be getting a fever, but a comparison with my aunt's forehead showed that I had no abnormally high temperature.
Then BAM! In the span of 2-3 hours, I suddenly had a fever of 39.3°C (~103°F), scaring the hell out of everyone, and was summarily drugged and put to bed. X_X
