Update
The good news is I have tickets to the Las Vegas concert on Sat! Will be meeting up with a cousin and her friend there and attending together.
I...really, really, really, really, really don't want to think about how much I ended up spending for this event. *lalala~have~amnesiaaa~*
Changing the subject...
So the Star Rail 3.0 patch started earlier this week. I am only about halfway through the story though. It feels longer than the Penacony arcs, and I saw complaints about the length from some, but I think it's fine.
I do like the maps better than Penacony though. Penacony gave me claustrophobia with so many closed in spaces, and the tilting rooms gave me motion sickness. This new planet has more open door areas and wide open spaces, which is more comfortable to look at.
Plot has barely gotten started. Character design is too early to say. I'll probably write a longer review later this weekend.
Oh, I am playing with CN voice and EN subtitles. Though, since many names are Greco-Latin, it seems like EN voice would be more appropriate, but unfortunately, the VA strike is still impacting the game. Especially, Dan Heng is not voiced in the EN version, and he has a lot of lines in this patch. So ah well. I'll see about finding youtube vids for walkthrough/cinematics in the EN version later, if only to hear how the voices of the new characters sound like in EN, and how the various proper names are supposed to be pronounced.

Congrats on tickets!
VAs are striking? Was this part of the actor's strike or a different thing? Anyway, I do think the US industry doesn't pay their VAs enough, so good on them. Personally I still prefer JP voices over all except for the Xianzhou stuff, but then again the Xianzhou stuff drives me a bit batty... I do feel a bit cringe about Greco-Roman storylines, but that suggests Ratio should be getting a bigger portion of the story.

Ratio hasn't officially shown up in the patch. Speculation is wild on if he would be involved in the overall storyarc. (I hope he is, if only so that means we're likely to get his rerun banner, so I can finally pull his lightcone.)
On the one hand, his personal theme, dress theme, color scheme, and many habits, fit perfectly in the new place.
On the other hand, it's said this place has been cut off from the universe and was never connected to the rest of space civ by the Star Rail.
On the third tentacle, it's explicitly noted we and the locals can still communicate, despite nobody there wearing the standard universal translators from the IPC. So... is it really cut off from the universe?
On the fourth tentacle, even if there's gonna be Genius presence, it would make more sense to be from the Genius Society, like Herta, who's an actual banner character this patch. Ratio is part of the Intelligentsia Guild, which is more associated with the IPC than anything else, and the IPC should definitely not be involved.
