OK! So I finished the Ink Orchid set required to move past Chapter 7 (and am now stopped at the suit for Chapter 8 XD). Though, I think I like the dress from Orchid's Chant better aesthetically speaking. And of course, they look even better mix-matched. ^_^



Hair/Dress from Orchid's Chant, Fan/Shoes from Ink Orchid (not that you can see the shoes). The rest of the decoration are separate from the suits.

Your preference is obviously dictated by your distaste for Qing/Qipao-inspired clothes. XD Looking through the gallery, I think the Ink Orchid is meant to be a part of the Qipao four gentleman:
Wintersweet - Beauty in Painting
Orchid - Ink Orchid
Bamboo - Bamboo Pavilion
Chrysanthemum - Story of Shanghai

One might argue for Inked Bamboo Slip, but given that the season associated with bamboo is summer, I doubt a winter outfit had the four gentlemen association in mind.

Even the style fits the four gentlemen's supposed virtues:
Wintersweet - Pride（傲）
Orchid - Elegance（幽）
Bamboo - Culture（雅）
Chrysanthemum - Excellence（艳）

That's my reading of the situation anyway. I might be completely off base.

BTW, I love the little guzheng(?) plus the sash combo (what are they even called?!). Nicely put together. 👍

The ribbon item is called "Hibiscus Fairy" and is part of the Pure Lotus set.

The Stringless Guzheng is the final form of a guzheng quest chain.

Hibiscus Fairy on a Pure Lotus set...wat. That lotus set is definitely one of the least lotus like. =_=

Also, I don't think I dislike qipao per se. I mean, I'm also slowly grinding Story of Shanghai purely because I like the looks. I guess I just like my qipao to be mostly slim all the way instead of flaring outwards at the bottom so much. Like, I really like the top for the Bamboo Pavilion set, but I would rather wear pants or an short skirt for the bottom rather than the piece that goes with the set.

So basically the green spotted cornel version. I personally like that design and think it fits better as part of the four gentlemen Qipao style, but given that it's a hidden suit, it clearly wasn't meant to be part of the four gentlemen designs...

Yes, that one! Except I am very unlikely to get it since it requires a special event to trigger and who knows when that will be?

Yeah, that's what I figured. It's so pretty, but of course the pretty ones are always locked behind stuff. *sniffle*

What about Inked Bamboo Slip? That one looks like it's part of the normal quest lines.

The Inked Bamboo dress recipe is locked behind Volume 2 Chapter 3, so it's going to be some time before I get there. But still doable with enough time.

The accessories I could craft right now, but crafting is a huge bottleneck so probably not gonna bother until I get the dress.

Yeah, don't bother with the crafting if you don't have the dress to go with it first. The dress is the most eye-catching part of the outfit, no point in working on that stuff until you got the biggest bit done.
