Fics, fics, fics
Most of these are fics that I've *alread* bookmarked, so they're not recently found. But some of 'em do have updates to them.
Okay, first of all, Mysterious Rurouni (RK), by Mieren has updated on ffnet. Hilarious as heck. The latest chapter features Kenshin and Chichiri taking turns making Amiboshi's life miserable in the funniest ways. Poor Amiboshi... poor Suboshi who has to experience everything that happens to his twin. *snicker*
Secondly, I've been hearing good things about the Stories of Arda LOTR fanfic archive. It's somewhat alike to Henneth Annun in that it doesn't have as much of the lowest denominator quality fics as ffnet... much less Mary Sues and more canonical adherence in general... though I think it's harder to navigate and there's more WIPs on it - but that might just be 'cause I haven't gotten the hang of it yet.
Daw the Minstrel has a whole list of completed fics, all in a series. Her series mainly focuses on l'il Legolas in the pre-LOTR days, though by the time you finish the first fic or so in the sequence, some of her OC's have become as dear as the non-OC's. I love Ithilden and Eilien - they're so cute! Turgon (not to be confused with a certain Noldor king)... is like a walking nightmare for any caretaker/parent, especially those not his own. And l'il Legolas can certainly be adorable without having to be perennially stuck in the chibi-elf/toddler stage of characterization.
Last Hope (LOTR), by AfterEver is... interesting. Mainly features Gilrean's arrival to Imladris after her husband's death and her adjustments there. She doesn't think all that much about the Elves though, which makes her interactions with Elrond and his family/staff interesting.
