GW2 update - griffin!

So I finally got the owl griffin mount last night. Yep, after the money made from Halloween, I went ahead and splurged the 250 gold. In packets of 50g per map. It was like paying mortgage.

I'll need to level it up now. I already have the mastery points saved up. So it's just a matter of doing XP.

I'll probably just do map completion that I need to do on all my characters anyway for their class spec collection. That should be more than enough.

No comments about the Mountgate rage going on in reddit/forums. I didn't bother buying the Halloween skins and I didn't bother with the new random mount skins. Unlike the default glider skin, I'm fine with the default mount skin. *shrug*

Anet put put mount skins for sale on the gem store. It's 400 gem per license or 9600 gems for a full bundle. Each license gives you a guaranteed unique skin out of 30 possible reskins.

People blew up because it's RNG. *shrug*

Yes, I gathered. I'm kind of on the blowing up side of things. It's predatory marketing. It's dressing up the RNG box in a nicer dressing and hiding behind "variety" to take the sting out of having to roll for access. I can literally see the marketing arguments for why it should be bundled as such due to cynical player behavior analysis.

No, I don't expect the company to have the consumer's best interest in mind if left unregulated. But gaming industry is predatory to the point of being ridiculous. And sure, you can throw that all under "it's just entertainment," but every other form of entertainment had to be regulated and checked, and given that gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry and gaming has risen to the same level of ubiquity as film or books or music, yeah, I expect less predatory practices or consumers are gonna say "enough" at some point.

P.S. I've uninstalled the game. I'm serious about being fed up with GW2's predatory practices. Feel free to raid the account for things and moneys and whatnot.
