Yes, I gathered. I'm kind of on the blowing up side of things. It's predatory marketing. It's dressing up the RNG box in a nicer dressing and hiding behind "variety" to take the sting out of having to roll for access. I can literally see the marketing arguments for why it should be bundled as such due to cynical player behavior analysis.
No, I don't expect the company to have the consumer's best interest in mind if left unregulated. But gaming industry is predatory to the point of being ridiculous. And sure, you can throw that all under "it's just entertainment," but every other form of entertainment had to be regulated and checked, and given that gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry and gaming has risen to the same level of ubiquity as film or books or music, yeah, I expect less predatory practices or consumers are gonna say "enough" at some point.
