How complicated would you consider the math behind optimizing? Like, is there an obvious "best" strategy, or is there more variation on terms of style?

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth getting into Honkai: Star Rail. Honestly not sure if my internet connection can handle it, but if there's auto battle, I feel like it shouldn't strain the system too much...
